BOBST, one of the world’s leading suppliers of flexible packaging, folding carton and corrugated cardboard, is commending its Chinese customers impacted by the Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia (‘NCP’).
Packaging manufacturers supplying the pharmaceutical industry are increasing productivity to ensure their customers can maintain supply of antibiotics, Chinese medicine and disinfection equipment. The speed, accuracy and reliability of BOBST machinery is ensuring uptime is maximized and demand from across the country is met. Global Printing, which is located in North-West China and specializes in packaging for pharmaceutical companies, has seen orders for the four major categories of emergency products for the prevention and control of the virus increase dramatically. The company is working around the clock to ensure customers can deliver medical supplies to people and places where it is needed most. Global Printing's subsidaries, Xi'an Debao and Yongxin Packaging, have been working throughout the Chinese holiday of Spring Festival. In South China, Foshan Huaxin Printing which uses a combination of BOBST high-speed folder-gluers and die-cutters, has collaborated with the six major pharmaceutical manufacturers in China, including Guangzhou Pharmaceutical Group, Xiangxue Pharmaceutical and Feng Lexing, to ensure a smooth and consistent supply of anti-NCP drugs.To date, Foshan Huaxin Printing has produced more than eight million boxes of anti-epidemic supplies for pharmaceutical manufacturers. Another BOBST customer manufacturing packaging for pharmaceutical companies involved in the development of drugs to combat the virus is Tianjin Yiyao Printing,which is located in North China. Utilising the efficiency and versatility of BOBST die-cutter machines and folder-gluers, the company has so far produced five million small boxes for medical supplies, complete with medical instructions. On January 23, 2020, we kickstarted an emergency production plan of medical supplies to help in the prevention and control of the epidemic.Since then, employees of Yiyao Printing have been working overtime to meet demand during this difficult time. It’s imperative to ensure the safety of our people.” In East China, BOBST customer Shandong Luxin Tianyi Printing received an order to produce 55 million boxes. The industry leader in folding cartons for the pharmaceutical industry has a range of BOBST machines on site and has integrated its six production lines to achieve optimum capacity to meet demand.‘ Cyril Ruiz-Moise, General Manager of Bobst Shanghai said: “In response to the current situation, many pharmaceutical manufactures urgently adjusted their production plans to increase the production of related products which impacted on our customers which manufacture packaging for the sector.
